prognosticate
the news predicting game: "Pick your favourite news topic from a menu. The current headlines will be displayed (you can pick CNN or BBC) - click one to start the game. Your chosen news story will be typed up on your screen. When it stops, it's over to you to predict the next word." There are twenty word picks per story. Might be a bit too tough but could be used in a current events class as a contest.

Catch the Furball... Icebreaker board game (via computer)
Catch the Furball is an icebreaker-like game for friends to play around a computer. It is partly based on another game called Generica. To play Generica you need to make a board, and print out/cut up cards. You can play Catch the Furball from the web.
All from Jonathans Corner. The game could be used in a synchronous learning session for a revealing opener. The source code is also available on the site for your use or customization.
