The Prisoner's Dilemma and Society
This version of the Prisoner's Dilemma is java based model for exploring the problem of cooperation versus conflict in groups. The applet below demonstrates the spread of 'altruism' and 'exploitation for personal gain' in an interacting population of individuals learning from each other by experience. Initially the population consists of cooperators and a percentage of defectors (that you set). The advantage of defection is also a variable you can set. A very intereting activity. The display is similar to conway's game of life. Enjoy

MSIChicago | Game On |
Game On: the history, culture and future of video games This exhibit opened on March 4, 2005 at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago IL. There is quite a nice online tour of the exhibit as well as online games to play, including this online version of [Spacewar] billed as the first video game ever written.
